$$$-$$$$, Dupont Circle
Fodor's Review:
Rock 'n' roll palace meets urban thrift shop in this utterly oddball supper club-cum-guesthouse, a scramble of five side-by-side town houses crammed with art, junk, and everything in between. Nothing here suggests a hotel: from a two-story log cabin suite with fish tanks and pony-skin chairs to the John Lennon-theme room with a signed guitar case and hologrammed bathroom floor, this is the most unique sleep in town. Squander your evenings shooting pool in the billiards room, or pick up one of the ubiquitous guitars and write a song about the place -- you won't be the first. Breakfast (included) is self-service in the giant, funky turquoise kitchen. Watch for secret doorways, some left from when the Mansion was a dorm for Hoover's G-Men.
