Kramerbooks & Afterwords. This popular bookstore-cum-café is a favorite neighborhood breakfast spot. It's also a late-night haunt on weekends, when it's open around the clock. There's a simple menu with soups, salads, and sandwiches, but many people drop in just for cappuccino and dessert. The "dysfunctional family sundae" -- a massive brownie soaked in amaretto with a plethora of divine toppings -- is a local favorite, and especially popular with kids. Live music, from rock to blues, is performed Wednesday through Saturday from 8 PM to midnight.
