Web Sites in Washington, D.C.

Web Sites

The Library of Congress's site (www.loc.gov) covers its current and upcoming exhibitions, offers visitor information, and contains vast, fascinating online exhibits. At the National Park Service site (www.cr.nps.gov/nr/travel/wash), the maps, photos, and concise but thorough descriptions take you beyond the obvious destinations. The Smithsonian has an interesting Web site (www.si.edu) that gives you plenty of information about current and upcoming exhibits in all its museums.

For nightlife, the Web site of the Washington Post (www.washingtonpost.com) has a fairly comprehensive listing of what's going on around town. Also check out the site of Washington CityPaper (www.washingtoncitypaper.com), a free weekly newspaper, and that of the Washingtonian (www.washingtonian.com), a monthly magazine. For gay bars and clubs, click on the Web site for the gay newspaper Washington Blade (www.washblade.com) or the bar guide Metro Weekly (www.metroweekly.com).
