At this time-share resort, palms, ponds, a footbridge, and gazebos set the mood on 23 acres of gulf-facing grounds. Inside the two-floor stilt buildings, the one- and two-bedroom apartments are roomy and contemporary, with full kitchens, wicker furniture, tasteful patterns, and big screened-in porches that look out to the beach. The respected Thistle Lodge restaurant is in a re-created historic home with a beach view. In season (mid-March through April), the minimum stay is seven days. Pros: on the beach, good restaurants, lots of recreational opportunities. Cons: spa treatments in-room only or beachside, minimum stay requirement.
