$$$-$$$$, Jacksonville
Fodor's Review:
It's only fitting that the sunny yellow historic homes that make up this precious inn are surrounded by a white picket fence. Just a block from the heart of downtown Fernandina Beach, rooms are spacious and individually decorated with bedspreads and fabrics, and, in some cases, window treatments and antiques. Some rooms have claw-foot tubs, others have whirlpools, and one has a working fireplace. The rate includes a three-course breakfast that can be enjoyed either in the bright dining room or out on the porch. Lemonade and fresh baked cookies often appear on the porch in the afternoon. Pros: walking distance to historic district, pets allowed in certain rooms, friendly staff, complimentary bicycles and beach gear (towels, umbrellas). Cons: may be boring for kids, small pool, not within walking distance of the beach.
