  Haulover Beach Park Review

  The clothing-optional beach at Haulover is one of my must-visits whenever I go to south Florida. It has everything you could want in a beach – convenient parking for only $6, plenty of room, great sand, beautiful clear water, lifeguards, chair and umbrella rentals, food concessions, restrooms and the freedom to wear as little as you want, including nothing. This is one a few nude beaches in the US where it is actually legal to be naked. At many other beaches where nudity is practiced, it is only “tolerated,” but here you can be assured that you are perfectly within the good graces of law enforcement and not subject to the whim of an officer with an attitude.
  
  The only difference between Haulover and other beaches is the lack of clothes. Like a textile beach, you are likely to see someone parading around who has the desire to be seen. You might see other forms of inappropriate behavior as well. Unlike textile beaches, there are “beach ambassadors” there to guide those whose behavior crosses the line. These ambassadors are trained by South Florida Free Beaches, the organization who worked to legalize the clothing-optional status, and are easily identified by their green safari hats. Track one of them down and let them know of your concerns and they will be glad to help.
  
  Haulover experiences another problem other beaches have as well -- trash. While as clean as any other area beach, the main problem I see is cigarette butts but there are other types of trash as well. Please do NOT use a beach as an ashtray. And be a good citizen and haul away more trash than you create.
  
  Oh yeah… the nudity thing. It’s actually much easier to do than you think. I was most nervous the first time I dropped my suit but quickly realized that the others don’t care. You will not hear a collective gasp when your “private bits” become public. And no one there really cares what you look like. You will see all types: Young and not so young, thin, heavy, darkly tanned or glowing white, pierced and tattooed, all races, etc. You will see people with scars, women who have undergone mastectomies, and men will all levels of endowment. You will find most the beach goers warm and friendly and discover that many are regulars who know many of those around them by name. Just relax and enjoy yourself and remember one thing most of all – don’t forget the sunscreen. Apply it liberally, especially to those parts that rarely see sunlight. Failure to do so may make sitting on the ride home a lot harder than it was getting to the beach!

  Haulover Beach Park Review

  Visited here for the first time in April. As someone who had never been to a clothing optional beach of any kind before, I can tell you that, at first, it's a bit of a shock to see so much flesh on display! It doesn't take long to get used to it, though. And once you've gotten the nerve to take it all off (gulp), you'll find it's an incredibly comfortable and enjoyable place to be nude.
  
  Parking is $6, and the lot (and beach) were extremely busy on the Saturday I visited. Concessions, chair/umbrella rentals and showers are all located in the nude section, so once you're undressed, you can stay undressed!
  
  I recommend Haulover highly. Just don't forget to wear lots of sunscreen!

  all you need is sunblock...

  ...and a lot of it! Haulover offers the only legal, public beach in the area where you can wander about in your birthday suit. And you will have a lot of company -- the beach attracts hundreds of similarly unclothed visitors on almost any nice day, especially on weekends.
  
  It is certainly clothing optional, so you can wear as much or as little as you like. But if you decide to join the majority of people there and decide to go naked, you won't regret it!
