There are chess boards in the Day-Glo-colored lobby, beanbag chairs in the rooms, and chrome ceiling fans throughout at this fanciful SoBe hotel. But the highlight here is the 3rd-floor Lucite Suite, where practically everything, from bed to desk to phones to tables, is made from translucent plastic, making it a great place to party (but a bad place to play hide-and-seek). Sure, the rooms are on the small side, and there isn't much of a view, but the low-key vibe, proximity to the beach and clubs, and great prices make the Kent a solid choice for those who like to take it easy. Pros: Laid-back and cheap. Cons: No pool, no restaurant, and few services.
