Because of its 84,000-square-foot exhibit hall, this is Disney's most popular convention hotel. But since the meeting space is in its own wing, the moderately priced resort is also popular with families who appreciate its casual Southwestern architecture, its lively, Mexican-style food court, and its elaborate swimming pool, which has a Mayan pyramid with a big slide. There's a full-service health club and spa, and if you like jogging, walking, or biking you're in the right place -- a pleasant path circles the lake. You can rent bikes, kayaks, canoes, and paddleboats. Pros: great pool with a play area/arcade for kids and a bar for adults; lots of outdoor activities. Cons: some accommodations are a half-mile from the restaurants; standard rooms are on the small side (300 square feet); kids may find the subdued atmosphere boring.

Excellent stay

I stayed here with a friend and her mother while the latter was attending a convention and I'm not sure what was paid, so please disregard my comment on the value (I had to enter something!) I was very happy with this resort. It is beautiful and well-kept. The restaurants were great (Pepper Market is a buffet while the Maya Grill is more upscale) and the atmosphere delightful. Our room was a bit far from the main area, but the walk was peaceful and enjoyable. Highly recommended.

Best of the moderates!

This is by far my favorite moderate. It has a beautiful layout. The Pepper Market is a wonderful food court with lots of items to choose from. You rarely hear any noise so this is a great resort for couples without children. The bus transportation is fast and efficient. You rarely have to wait more than 5-10 minutes for a bus. I would highly recommend this resort to anyone that is looking for a moderately priced resort.

Value Play!!!

My family and I just returned from the CS at WDW. The rooms are very small, the decor is suppose to be Colonial Spain/Old Mexico; however, a little on the "tacky" side. The main pool is nice with a good slide for everyone to enjoy. The only restaurant we dined at on this property was the Pepper Market. Stay away! The variety is large; the quality is lacking. The best features are the transportation to the WDW theme parks, the mini-refrigerator in the room, and the grounds around the property itself. This is a value play for anyone visiting WDW. If you're use to staying in 4 or 5 star hotels, you will be disappointed at the CS.

Moderate price is okay

This was our first time at a moderate resort in Disney. It was a little hard to adjust to being far away from the main building, but we got the hang of it. We were expecting the feel of a motel, but it wasn't really like that. This is a beautiful place. We had a room with a private pool right outside our door. The kids loved this in the evenings. We loved the main pool. We weren't too far from the bus stop. That is something to look into when choosing a room location. The restaurants were nice and everyone was extremely pleasant. We booked this particular trip on Expedia and had vouchers. Everything went smoothly. Great deal for the money.
