Radisson Resort Parkway

¢-$$, Kissimmee

User Rating: ** 2.1

Fodor's Review:

This bright, spacious Radisson has an attractive location amid 1 1/2 acres of foliage, good facilities, and competitive prices. The focal point is the giant pool, with wide, gentle waterfalls; a 40-foot slide; and whirlpools. The lively sports bar off the lobby has a massive TV. On-site refueling options include Starbucks, Krispy Kreme, and Pizza Hut. Generously proportioned rooms are decorated with blond-wood furniture and white down comforters. A free shuttle makes 10-minute trips to Disney. Pros: kids 10 and under eat free at hotel restaurants; kids suites have bunk beds; free Disney shuttle. Con: not an easy walk to area shops or restaurants.

Not so Good

Posted by rlhill from Kansas City, MO on 8/2/07

Our stay was during March of 2005, was there seven nights. Was not what it was advertised to be. Started off with not being able to find our reservation, when I threatened to come over the counter they miracously figured it out! Room turned out to be pretty average, not too small, decent bathroom and we were in a wing that had been recently renovated. We did get to see some of the rooms that were under renovation, what a disaster! Too bad hotels are not forced to deliver on what they advertise. Hotel food is alway over priced, but this place was a disgrace. $6 bottle of water, $8 cold sandwich, and the Starbucks had about five items on a "modified menu"! On-site washer and drier was a joke, it filled with water and drained but that is all it did, drier did turn but no heat! DO NOT count on their shuttle, nothing earlier than 8:30am and if too many people were trying to go at the same time it turned into a dog fight! The hotel is in a great location as far as Disney is concerned, by car it was five minutes, 15 minutes with any kind of traffic. We would have much rather stayed somewhere that was nicer and had better service, but that is the gamble you take goin on vacation! The other wierd thing with this hotel it seemed like there were many residents that actually lived there and also it had 6-8 bus loads of convention/groups there our whole stay. These groups dominated much of the entrances and exits to the hotel and was like trying to in and out of LAX all the time. We learned early to get up early and stay out late. Do not waste you time or money, there were several other properties we found by talking to other on our stay that were more affordable with better services and more modern facilities.

A Slight Letdown at the Radisson!

Posted by John from Atlanta, GA on 3/6/06

Overall, I wasn't impressed with this hotel. Perhaps our expectations were a little high. For starters, there is a $7.00 service fee for swimming pool usage and for other amenities. It is clear that they should build this into the price of the rooms, but failed to do so. I thought it was a cheap gesture to bill separately for this. When we arrived, we were told the "bellman went home, so we were left to fend for ourselves in getting the luggage to the room. The bell carts were fairly scarce as well. Parking is atrocious, and we parked about 1/4 mile from our room and had to hike with some luggage, and navigating around the hotel from the main lobby area is a bit tricky. The room was clean, but a bit outdated.
