Airport Transfers in Orlando-Disney World

Airport Transfers

By Taxi

Taxi fares start at $3.50 for the first mile and add $2 for each mile thereafter. The fare from the airport to the Walt Disney World area can run $40-$50, depending on your final destination. If there are four or more people in your party, taking a taxi may cost less than paying by the head for an airport shuttle.

Taxis & Limos

A-1 Taxi (407/328-4555). Ace Metro Cab (407/855-1111). Checker Cab Company (407/699-9999). Star Taxi (407/857-9999). Town & Country Transportation (407/828-3035). Yellow Cab Co. (407/699-9999).

By Shuttle

Mears Transportation Group (407/423-5566. www.mearstransportation.com) meets you at the gate, helps with the luggage, and whisks you away in either an 11-passenger van, a town car, or a limo. Vans run to Walt Disney World and along U.S. 192 every 30 minutes; prices range from $17 one-way for adults ($13 for children 4-11) to $29 round-trip for adults ($21 children 4-11). Limo rates run $60-$70 for a town car that accommodates three or four to $135 for a stretch limo that seats eight. Town & Country Transportation charges $150 one-way for a limo seating up to seven or eight people depending on luggage needs.

If you're staying at a Disney hotel, make arrangements to use Disney's free Magical Express service (866/599-0951), which includes shuttle transportation to and from the airport, luggage delivery, and baggage check-in at the hotel (if you're flying one of the participating airlines: Delta, United, Ted, Continental, JetBlue and American). The service was introduced for the Happiest Celebration on Earth event beginning May 2005 and ending in December 2006. If you're traveling after the event ends, be sure to call and find out if the service is still being offered, and if so, if it's still free.
