Disney's BoardWalk Inn Review

Harking back to Atlantic City in its heyday, the striking red and white hotel has a wood-floored lobby filled with potted palms and looks out on a classic waterfront promenade, where ferries and water taxis tootle about the bay, the smell of pretzels and popcorn hangs in the air, and hawkers call you to arcade games. The only thing missing is the gambling. And the Atlantic. But the namesake promenade does meander around Crescent Lake, enticing guests out for a pleasant after-dinner stroll to watch Epcot's fireworks, or a morning walk to the back gate of Epcot, which saves a lot of time if you just want to see the architecture of the lands. Several eateries are just steps away from the hotel's front door, including Cat Cora's Kouzzina, and the ESPN Club for the sports minded. Rooms in the inn are pricey, as you pay for being this close to fun.

    Being on the boardwalk was really reminiscent of an old traditional boardwalk setting. It took only a few moments to reach the boardwalk from our room. We enjoyed the boat transportation to and from Epcot and Disney Studios and rarely had to wait more than a few minutes. We were not as enthusiastic about the longish bus rides to Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom and those waits were much longer.

    The hotel was sprawling and we didn't even make it to one whole side of the place, including the big pool. We really enjoyed the small "quiet pool" and it lived up to its name. The staff was quite helpful and assertively kind. Our room was nice although fairly standard of a midrange hotel room. My only complaint about the room was there was no suitcase rack or suitable spot for opening luggage.

    I would love to stay at the Boardwalk Inn resort again and I would recommend it to others. In fact, I have already recommended it to several friends.
