Zoo Atlanta

Museums / Galleries, Zoos / Aquariums, Grant Park

User Rating: *** 3.4

Fodor's Review:

This zoo has nearly 1,000 animals living in naturalistic habitats. The gorillas and tigers are always a hit, as are two giant pandas named Yang Yang and Lun Lun. Children can ride the endangered species carousel, meet new friends at the petting zoo; the whole family can take a ride on the Norfolk Southern Zoo Express Train. To reach the zoo by car, take Interstate 20 east to Exit 59A and turn right on Boulevard. Follow the signs to the zoo, which is right near the Atlanta Cyclorama & Civil War Museum.

Loved It!

The living treehouse is a must-see!! The area is quaint and beautiful. Grant Park is a very pretty park full of nature in the heart of the city - wonderful victorian houses as well!

What Happened?

It seems that the Zoo Atlanta (Grant Park in particular) is run down these days, including the Zoo grounds.
