Shopping Overview
Atlanta's department stores, specialty shops, large enclosed malls, and antiques markets draw shoppers from across the Southeast. Most stores are open Monday-Saturday 10-9, Sunday noon-6. Many downtown stores close Sunday. Sales tax is 7% in the city of Atlanta and Fulton County and 6%-7% in the suburbs.
Buckhead has several antiques shops, most of them along or near Peachtree Road; expect rare goods and high prices here. Venture into Virginia-Highland and the city's suburban towns to find all sorts of treasures.
