Barnsley Gardens Resort Review
This award-winning resort features luxurious and comfortable accommodations, a championship golf course, spa, restaurant, horseback riding, and miles of nature trails. Located just 20 mi from New Echota, Barnsley Gardens is a relaxing getaway. The grounds were part of an 1840s estate built by Godfrey Barnsley, a wealthy British cotton factor. Barnsley was obsessed with creating ornate gardens for his wife, who did not live to see the home's completion. The mansion lies in ruins, creating a romantic backdrop for the gardens. You can learn more about the mansion and fascinating history of the Barnsley family at the adjacent museum, housed in the mansion's former kitchen and servant's quarters.
