Savannah's young and restless pack this trendy haunt nightly. Chef Chris Nason focuses his seasonal menus on local ingredients, such as Georgia white shrimp, crab, and fish. The Grill features succulent choices of steak, poultry, and fish, with a myriad of interesting à la carte accompaniments such as jalapeño tartar, sweet soy-wasabi sauce, and clemson blue-cheese tarragon-dijon mustard. Vegetarians will delight in the elegant vegetable presentations -- perhaps including roasted sweet onions, spicy peppers, rice-marinated watercress, or fried green tomatoes with grilled ginger. Chocoholics should try the delicious, potent chocolate flan. Downstairs the decor is hip with gray brick walls alongside those painted a deep sapphire and a stone bar; upstairs is quieter and more romantic.

This marvelous modern restaurant is one of the best in Savannah. The chef is wonderfully creative, the atmosphere is dark, romantic and slick.
Unlike some of the other reviews here, we felt that Sapphire was a good value.
