This is a beautiful spot, with high ceilings and a lanai overlooking the ocean. It offers perhaps the best seafood menu on the island, including loads of fresh oysters and creative Pacific Rim dishes like pan-seared opah (moonfish) in cardamom sauce and, when available, delicate farm-raised moi, in ancient times enjoyed only by chiefs. Don't overlook the appetizer sampler with seared ahi and tempura sushi, and save room for warm Valrhona chocolate cake. If you're in the mood for an early dinner (before 6:30 PM), Coast Grille has a selection of very reasonably priced three-course prix-fixe meals.

My husband and I had a very nice dinner here - the service was fine, and the view was spectacular. We thought the food was very good, but it lacked that certain "wow" factor you might expect given the prices. We had a far more delicious meal the next night at a local restaurant in the nearby town of Kawaihe (and for half the price).
