Tucked away on a residential side street near Waikiki's Ala Wai Canal, this locally owned 17-story condominium-style hotel is a gem. The glass-wall lobby with koa-wood furnishings, original Hawaiian artwork, and friendly staff creates a Hawaiian home-away-from-home. One of the selling points of this place is the decent rate for its spacious studios with kitchenettes, as well as its one- and two-bedroom suites with full kitchens, Jacuzzi baths, cable TV with free HBO and Disney channels, multiple phones, and spacious lanai. It's a two-block walk to Waikiki Beach. The parking is free but limited. When the spots are full, you park on the street.
