Sheraton Maui Resort

Fodor's Review:

Set among dense gardens on Kaanapali's best stretch of beach, the Sheraton offers a quieter, more understated atmosphere than its neighboring resorts. The open-air lobby has a crisp, cool look with minimal furnishings and decor, and sweeping views of the pool area and beach. The majority of the spacious rooms come with ocean views; only one of the six buildings has rooms with mountain or garden views. The hotel has had a technology upgrade with 32-inch flat-screen TVs in all rooms and Bose stereo systems in suites; many of the public areas have been spruced up, as well. The swimming pool looks like a natural lagoon, with rock waterways and wooden bridges. Best of all, the hotel sits next to the 80-foot-high "Black Rock," from which divers leap in a nightly torch-lighting ritual.
