Upcountry Bed & Breakfast Review

Spacious rooms and unobstructed views are two reasons to experience Upcountry Maui at this B&B, into which owner Michael Sullivan has put a lot of heart and soul. He designed his house to take advantage of natural cooling and heating techniques, based on the principles of noted Hawaii architect C. W. Dickey. Sullivan makes the tiles and light fixtures in his own ceramics studio on the property, and he built comfortable, easy-to-get-around rooms for handicapped guests. Every room has a private bath, gas fireplace, wet bar, mini-refrigerator, and coffeemaker. Outside, the hot tub, shower, and spa area make good places for watching the sun set or stargazing (astronomy guides are provided). Guests must be at least 21 years old.
