Hawaii is wired to a variety of media, including network television, cable television, Web-based media, newspapers, magazines, and radio. Many of the resorts and hotels throughout Maui, Molokai, and Lanai include an additional visitor-information channel on your in-room television. Consult your in-room directory to get channel and scheduling information and to find out the special activities or events that might be happening during your visit.
Each of the Islands has its own daily newspaper, available through many hotel bell desks; in sundry stores, restaurants, and cafés; and at newsstands. Many hotels will deliver one to your room on request. On Maui and Lanai, it's the Maui News. On Molokai, it's the Molokai Island Times and the Dispatch. Pacific Business News provides the latest in statewide business news.
Radio airwaves on the Islands are affected by natural terrain, so don't expect to hear one radio station islandwide. For Hawaiian music, tune your FM radio dial to 93.5 KPOA or 103.7 KNUQ for Jawaiian tunes. News junkies can get their fill of news and talk by tuning to 1110 KAOI on the AM radio dial. National Public Radio enthusiasts can tune to the FM dial for NPR programming on 90.7 KKUA.
Television channels on the Islands are plentiful between network and cable channels. Channel allocation varies by island and location. You can find the following network programming with its channel and local affiliate call sign: FOX (2) KHON, ABC (4) KITV, UPN/WB (5) KHVE, CBS (9) KGMB, PBS (10) KHET, and NBC (13) KHNL.
