Boat & Ferry Travel

There is daily ferry service between Lahaina, Maui, and Manele Bay, Lanai, with Expeditions Lanai Ferry. The 9-mi crossing costs $50 cash (or $52 if you pay with a credit card) round-trip, per person and takes about 45 minutes or so, depending on ocean conditions (which can make thistrip a rough one). Molokai Ferry offers twice daily ferry service betweenLahaina, Maui and Kaunakakai, Molokai. Travel time is about 90 minuteseach way and the roundtrip fare is $40 per person. Reservations are recommendedfor both ferries. A high-speed interisland ferry service that will runbetween Maui, Honolulu, the Big Island, and Kauai, is scheduled to beginsometime in 2006.
