Museum of Contemporary Photography

Museum of Contemporary Photography Review

"Contemporary" is defined here as anything after 1936. More than 7,000 works from American-born and American-resident photographers make this an impressive collection. The permanent collection, pieces of which are on rotating display, includes photos by Dorothea Lange, Ansel Adams, and Nicholas Nixon. Curators constantly seek out new talent and under-appreciated established photographers, which means that there are artists here you probably won't see elsewhere. Rotating exhibits have included photojournalism and scientific photography.
