Fodor's Review:
Julius Meinl Cafe. Viennese coffee roaster Julius Meinl operates this very European café in an unexpected location at the intersection of Addison and Southport, just a few blocks from Wrigley Field. Comfortable banquettes and a well-stocked supply of international newspapers bid coffee sippers to stick around. Vegetable focaccia and pear and brie sandwiches, hazelnut and blue-cheese salads, mushroom soup, and loads of European pastries feed the peckish. We love the Austrian breakfast of poached egg, ham, and Emmentaler cheese -- this is the only place in the city that serves it. Classical and jazz combos entertain Friday and Saturday evenings.
