Chicago Sights

Taylor Street Review

In the mid-19th century, when Italians started to migrate to Chicago, about one-third of them settled in and around Taylor Street, a 12-block stretch between Ashland and University of Illinois-Chicago. It is best known for its Italian restaurants, though Thai food, tacos, and other ethnic food options are on the street as well. Little Italy is bordered by UIC (Morgan Street) on the east and Western Avenue on the west. Its north and south boundaries are Harrison and 12th streets (Roosevelt Road), respectively.
