Vera Review

Food and wine go hand-in-hand at this Spanish wine bar run by husband-and-wife team Mark and Elizabeth Mendez. Championing for what she calls a "sherry revolution," Elizabeth curates a progressive wine list, including a flowing tap system that pours three rotating varietals to complement Mark's Latin-inspired cuisine. Naturally, a wine bar demands charcuterie and cheese, but Vera's personality truly shines in small plates like lamb and beef albondigas (meatballs) with whipped ricotta and the anchovies with pickled garlic and celery leaves. Vegetarians will also feel at home with thoughtful dishes like fried artichokes with Idiazabal cheese and beer garlic vinaigrette.
