This glittering downtown hotel, dubbed "big blue" for its aqua-hued glass façade, attracts a mix of guests for its central location and full slate of in-house amenities. Beyond its flashy exterior, the lobby exudes a sophisticated feel with light woods and contemporary furnishings, including a room-dividing glass-enclosed fireplace. Spacious rooms face the canal or downtown (which can get noisy) and feature plush comforters and large flat-screen TVs. For families, the indoor pool, pullout sofas and summer kids packages (featuring tickets to the Children's Museum or zoo and breakfast) make the JW a good choice for a family vacation.
