Maine Discovery Museum

Maine Discovery Museum Review

The largest children's museum north of Boston, the Maine Discovery Museum has three floors with more than 60 interactive exhibits. Kids can explore Maine's ecosystem in Nature Trails, learn about other cultures in TradeWinds, step into classic children's books like Charlotte's Web—all written by Maine authors—in Booktown, and unearth true-to-size dinosaur "bones" in DINO Dig. There's also drop-in art studio and daily programs on art and other topics. Visitors to Acadia National Park often head here on a rainy day, and you can call ahead to sign kids up for one day of camp, space allowing.
