Lobster Pound Restaurant

Lobster Pound Restaurant Review

If you're looking for an authentic place to have your Maine lobster dinner, this is it. This large restaurant has rustic wooden picnic tables outside, an enclosed patio, and two dining rooms with a gift shop in between. Hundreds of live lobsters are in swimming tanks out back; just ask if you want to pick your own or let the kids take a look. There's a full bar; the wine list includes some local vintages. Right on U.S. 1 next to a small beach, the restaurant provides beautiful views from its indoor and outdoor seating. The classic "Shore Dinner Deluxe" consists of lobster stew or fish chowder, steamed clams or mussels, fried clams, 1½-pound lobster, potato or rice, salad, roll, and dessert. Because this is such a big place, you won't have to wait long even if it's busy.
