The Portland Regency Hotel & Spa Review

Not part of a chain despite the "Regency" name, this brick building in the center of the Old Port was Portland's armory in the late 19th century. It's mostly new construction inside but a few architectural features remain, like the fireplace in the Twenty Milk Street restaurant (there's also a lower-level pub). Large sleek modern suites on the fourth floor have floor-to-ceiling windows, balconies, sitting areas, and wet bars. All rooms have desks, flat-screen TVs, and terry robes. A big draw is the full-service spa with a beautiful blue-green tiled Jacuzzi, saunas, steams rooms, lounges, and an array of massage and other treatments, including a bamboo body polish, an organic seaweed wrap, ten types of facials, and even eyelash tinting!
