Harraseeket Inn Review

Despite some modern appointments, including elevators, this large hotel has a country-inn ambience throughout. Guest rooms have print fabrics and reproductions of Federal quarter-canopy beds. The lobby, Maine Dining Room, and about half of the 80-some rooms are in the historic main section. There are also separate town houses and rooms in the pet-friendly carriage house. Deluxe rooms have wet bars, Jacuzzis (some double), and wood-burning fireplaces (or, in one case, a stove). Ask for a garden-facing room. In the formal Maine Dining Room ($$$-$$$$), contemporary American regional and organic cuisine is served. The excellent Broad Arrow Tavern ($$-$$$) offers heartier fare and has a patio.
