Black Point Inn Review

Toward the tip of the peninsula that juts into the ocean at Prouts Neck stands this stylish, tastefully updated 1878 resort inn with spectacular views up and down the coast. Guests have access to beaches, trails, kayaking equipment, a country club with tennis courts and a golf course, and a yacht club. Finer touches abound, such as Frette linens and in-room terry-cloth robes. The Cliff Walk, a pebbled path that wanders past Winslow Homer's former studio, runs along the Atlantic headlands that he often painted. Peak season rates include breakfast, dinner, and gratuities (they're tacked on for you). The Chart Room pub and The Point restaurant take advantage of the views. The inn is about 10 mi south of Portland and about 10 mi north of Old Orchard Beach.
