Flatbread

Flatbread Review

Families, students, and bohemian types gather at this popular pizza place, known locally as Flatbread's. Two giant wood-fire ovens, where the pies are cooked, are the heart of the soaring, warehouse-like space; in summer you can escape the heat by dining on the deck overlooking the harbor. The simple menu has eight signature pizzas plus weekly veggie and meat specials; everything is homemade, organic, and nitrate-free. Be sure to order the delicious house salad with toasted sesame seeds, seaweed, blue or goat cheese, and ginger-tamarind vinaigrette. Waits can be long on weekends and in summer, and there are no reservations for parties of less than 10, but you can call a half hour ahead to get on the waiting list.
