Bufflehead Cove Inn Review

On the Kennebunk River at the end of a winding dirt road, this gray-shingle B&B sits amid fields and apple trees. Surprisingly it's only a five-minute drive from Kennebunkport's Dock Square. Rooms in the main house are outfitted with a funky mix of antiques and Far Eastern and eclectic art. The Hideaway suite, with a two-sided gas fireplace, king-size bed, and large whirlpool tub, overlooks the river. Most rooms have fireplaces and tidal river views. It's a great place to bring your kayak or canoe for paddling trips right from the dock, or you can opt to gaze upon the river from the expansive wraparound porch. The roomy cottage, set back from the main house, has a large private deck with water views, a wood-burning fireplace, a pullout couch, and a two-person whirlpool tub.
