Stage Neck Inn Review

Since the 1870s successive hotels have perched on this tiny rock-clad peninsula beside at York Harbor's entrance. Built in the 1970s, this resort hotel a few steps from Harbor Beach takes full advantage of the views, with chaise lounges and a fire pit on the surrounding lawns, water views from most rooms, floor-to-ceiling windows in the Harbor Porches and Sandpiper Grille restaurants, and outdoor dining in season. With a fireplace and ceiling moldings in the lobby and a mix of wicker and classic furnishings, the feel is classy but relaxed. Among the amenities: indoor pool and hot tub, beachside outdoor pool, spa, clay tennis courts, and access to local golf courses.
