Antrim 1844 Review
The graceful antebellum mansion, charming outbuildings, and immaculate gardens here comprise one of the region's premier countryside hotels. Once the centerpiece of a massive plantation, the mansion has been lovingly renovated into nine guest rooms. Nearly three-dozen additional suites are tucked into smaller, but equally lovely, adjoining buildings, including an icehouse, carriage house, and barn. Each has a unique feeling, but all include luxurious details, whether a wood-burning fireplace, private balcony, whirlpool, steam shower, or canopy feather bed. A swimming pool, gazebo, tennis court, croquet field, and putting greens are interspersed with the elegant topiary gardens. Just 15 minutes from Gettysburg, the inn is a popular choice for weddings and romantic getaways. Note: it's technically outside of Western Maryland in Caroll County.
