Arrowhead

Fodor's Review:

Arrowhead, the gold-painted house Herman Melville purchased in 1850, is 4 mi south of downtown Pittsfield; the underwhelming tour includes the study in which Moby-Dick was written; it is said that Melville found his whale in the graceful shape of Mt. Greylock, which is framed by its window.
