Fodor's Review:

Emmanuel Music holds concerts at Emmanuel Church, known as "the Bach church" for its Holy Eucharist services on Sunday at 10 AM. The concert series, which is performed by a professional chamber orchestra and chorus, is one of Boston's hidden gems, and runs weekly from September to May.

Bach as Bach heard Bach

Posted by jeisdorfer from Boston, MA on 10/8/08
Every Sunday (September-May), Emmanuel Music offers a FREE performance at 10 am as part of the liturgical service. It's a wonderful opportunity to hear some amazing music by professional musicians in a historic and beautiful church - for FREE. They also offer a six-week Lenten Concert Series on Thursdays at Noon in the Lindsey Chapel, which is also free. There are also evening concerts with very reasonable general admission prices, considering the professional quality of music you get to hear. Check out their website! It is one of the few (if not, only) places in the U.S. where you can hear "Bach as Bach heard Bach."
