What this neighborhood needed most took a long time to get here, but there's finally a quick stop for barbecue, complete with a range of sauces and styles. The pit resides in the kitchen but the enticing, smoky aroma fills the whole high-ceiling space. Everything from pulled pork to spare- and baby back ribs to hickory-roasted chicken can be smothered in the sauce of your choice, including a North Carolina vinegar and spicy mustard. It's counter service only but there's also a bar to sit at that's covered with old soul and blues album covers.
