You can access this 38-story "megahotel" from any of three impressive entrances: the street-level lobby, a glass sky bridge from the Prudential Center-Hynes Auditorium complex, or the Copley Place shopping mall. Rooms have French Colonial-style dark-wood furniture and are decorated in burgundy and green. Some rooms overlook Boston Harbor or the Charles River. This hotel gets high marks for doing things right, such as employing a happy, professional staff and filling the place with a good vibe, a great sports bar, and a cool pool, but it loses fans with a nickel-and-dime-y approach to little things: guests pay for the Internet and bottled water, and there are too few creams and sugars for the in-room coffee. Small stuff, but annoying nonetheless, especially when there's so much competition (and another hotel, the Westin, that connects to the same two malls). One person's "lively buzz" is another one's "too crowded," and some complain about the crowded pool and long waits for the elevator. Pros: Exceptional service, plush beds, great location between two shopping malls. Cons: Extra charges for small things, crowded pool area, crowded lobby, housekeeping not always up to par.

Great location, nice rooms, and seems to care about the customer.
