Fodor's Review:

Aromatherapy wafts through the halls of the former Swissôtel at Downtown Crossing -- perhaps an energizing citrus scent in the am to get you going and a calming lavender essence to relax you in your room. If it's been a while since you visited this 22-story hotel, you'll likely notice some changes. High-end amenities are standard in guest rooms here and include Sony Dream Machines, pillow-top mattresses and featherbeds (with foam beds upon request), bathrobes, cordless phones, and bath products from Newbury Street's Portico. A favorite among business travelers, the hotel is a short walk from the Financial District, not to mention Boston Common and Chinatown. Savvy vacationers find weekend bargains and good package deals with theater tickets and shopping discounts at Macy's and Filene's Basement. The sleek lobby has marble floors and columns, dark woods, and bold, geometric rugs. Spacious guest rooms, set around four atriums, are decorated with mahogany furnishings, taupe linen walls, and soothing earth tones. Pros: Outdoor terraces off atriums on each floor, good package deals, saunas and whirlpools. Cons: Views of neighboring office buildings from guest rooms, few chairs around indoor pool, small gym.
