Fodor's Review:

A B&B budget option, this inn comprises two separate locations in the "streetcar suburb" of Brookline. This Victorian brick town house could use a little TLC -- the garish blue floral wallpaper and blah beige carpeting in the hallway are begging to be updated -- but period detailing gives the place a genteel charm. The T stops just outside and gets you to downtown Boston in 15 minutes. Most rooms are spacious, with hardwood floors, antique furniture, and free local calls. The Fenway Room has three beds (two queens, one full), and room enough for six die-hard Sox fans. The second of the two guesthouses is a turn-of-the-20th-century town house, slightly farther outside the city toward Boston College, though still directly on the C branch of the Green Line, not far from the restaurants and shops of Washington Square. Pros: There's a large refrigerator in the lobby for guest use; wallet-pleasing slow-time rates; quiet setting. Cons: Off the beaten track; only two parking spaces for guests; fireplaces are nonworking; tiny baths, some detached from rooms (though still private).
