Rendezvous

Rendezvous Review

In 2005 chef Steve Johnson commandeered a defunct Burger King in Central Square and turned it into a Mediterranean spot that is seriously committed to locally grown ingredients. (Try the sautéed cod with braised artichokes, brandade, and romesco.) This locovorism, along with a wine list that's updated weekly and specialty cocktails like the Nehru (saffron gin, lemon, and cardamom), makes Rendezvous appear always fresh and new. Exposed brick and a glass ceiling (which provides a great view of the garden above) add sophistication to the cheery yellow and orange interior. Sundays, the chef assembles a well-priced $38 three-course prix fixe menu.
