Sea Crest Beach Hotel Review

Location and amenities are strong draws at this modern hotel, whose eight buildings sprawl along one end of beautiful Old Silver Beach. You'll enjoy some 700 feet of frontage right along the sand. Renovated at the end of 2010, rooms are done in crisp, clean beach colors. Many rooms have ocean views, and some have gas fireplaces. The poolside restaurant is a good bet for a quick burger or sandwich if you don't want to stray far from the beach; it's easily accessible to nonguests.

    Great Location But Needs Work

We stayed at this resort in August '06. Check-in was slow and sloppy. The location was great, with a wonderful beach and nice pool area. Umbrellas, chairs and towels were plentiful. The hotel restaurant was only so-so for a fairly expensive dinner. The food needs work. There are so many good restaurants close by, skip the hotel restaurant. The outdoor lunch bar is too small for the size of the resort. It is difficult to find a waitress to take orders, so most people stand in line, but having lunch available so you don't have to leave the beach is a real convenience. The bedding and towels are substandard. The mattresses were just awful. They were thin, lumpy and not at all comfortable. Many hotels are upgrading their bedding and this hotel, for the price, should be doing the same. The Sunday brunch was above average, but be sure to make reservations and request a table by the window or you could be stuck in a far corner. Two people we particularly appreciated during our visit were the concierge and banquet manager. The concierge helped with dinner recommendations and reservations on a very busy weekend. The banquet manager, on short notice, prepared a lovely fruit and cheese platter for our room. The fruit was fresh, delivered in a timely fashion, and unexpectedly reasonably priced. All in all we enjoyed our stay, but we probably won't go back until we know that the rooms are more comfortable and have better amenities. They get a 4 for value because the really nice Cape Cod resorts are much more expensive.
