Bookstore and Restaurant Review

This quirky place, with views of Wellfleet Harbor and Great Island, serves consistently tasty—if predictable—fare. It's attached to a funky vintage bookstore close to the town docks, and there's outdoor seating. The kitchen serves American classics, from grilled filet mignon and vegetable penne primavera to fresh seafood (the shellfish comes right from Wellfleet Harbor), including a first-rate oyster stew. The adjoining Bombshelter sports bar is a diverting spot to watch a game on TV; this basement tavern is packed to the rafters in summer.

    Bookstore and Restaurant Review

Good food. The oyster poboy and cod reuben were fresh, crisp and delicious. The kids' cheeseburgers were homemade and not frozen cardboard patties. The bookstore was closed but it looks like just my kind of place. A true hidden gem.
