Race Point Lighthouse Review

One of the most unusual lodging opportunities on the Cape, the restored 1840 keeper's house at the stunning Race Point Lighthouse has three sparsely furnished guest rooms with lace curtains, braided rugs, and simple wooden chests and tables—pillows and blankets are provided, but you'll need to bring your own linens, towels, drinking water, and food. You don't stay here because it's cushy, but rather to enjoy the seclusion and romance of staying at an authentic, working lighthouse with a pristine beach just outside the window. Opportunities to see whales, dolphins, and migratory birds abound, both from the grounds and from the house itself. A gift shop on premises sells scrimshaw, sweatshirts, baseball caps, and other keepsakes. The maximum stay is four nights.
