L'Alouette Bistro

L'Alouette Bistro Review

Owners Alan and Gretchen Champney serve authentic French food in this unassuming gray-shingle house. Look for traditional and contemporary selections such as butter-poached lobster with a saffron-vanilla sauce; pistachio-crusted roast rack of lamb; and spicy seafood bouillabaisse with clams, mussels, shrimp, and scallops. Desserts here are a particular delight, especially the light and not-too-sweet tarte tatin. There's also a superb wine list.
