Association Hall
Association Hall Review
This stately, neoclassic 1844 building houses the town hall and the Katharine Cornell Memorial Theatre. The walls of the theater on the second floor are painted with murals depicting whaling expeditions and a Native American gathering, and the ceiling resembles a blue sky with seagulls overhead. Island artist Stan Murphy painted the murals on the occasion of the town's tercentenary in 1971.
