Aquinnah Restaurant Review

At the far end of the row of fast-food take-out spots and souvenir shops at the Gay Head Cliffs is this restaurant owned and operated by members of the Vanderhoop and Madison families, native Wampanoags. The view is quite dramatic—especially from the outdoor deck, which is perched hundreds of feet above the open ocean. (Just watch out for bold seagulls, who are not at all afraid to relieve you of your calamari.) The lunch menu includes sandwiches, burgers, and healthful-sounding salads. Dinner entrées include sautéed shrimp, scallops, and lobster with rotini in a chardonnay sauce, and striped bass in a mussel-and-saffron sauce.
