Goldsmith's Bed and Breakfast Review

Built in 1911 for the first president of the University of Montana, this lodging is on the bank of the Clark Fork River, at the end of a footbridge that leads to the campus. Within the prairie-style building, with big white eaves and a huge porch, are period furnishings, wool carpets, and fresh flowers. Each private room is unique; the honeymoon suite has a Japanese soaking tub, and two suites have gas fireplaces. Public rooms include a library and sitting area. Breakfast offerings include frittatas with a basil/cream sauce and apple-walnut pancakes, served in the dining room or on the deck overlooking the Clark Fork River.
