Three Chimneys Inn Review

This stately yellow structure has graced a hill overlooking the Oyster River since 1649. Rooms in the house and the 1795 barn are named after plants from the gardens and filled with Georgian- and Federal-style antiques and reproductions, canopy or four-poster beds with Edwardian drapes, and Oriental rugs; half have fireplaces. There are two restaurants here: a formal dining room ($$$) and the ffrost Sawyer Tavern, quirky as the name implies.
